Laser Hair Reduction
Facial hairs have different characteristics compared to the rest of the body. In a normal individual the hairs over upper lip and chin are of different characteristics compared to that present over rest of the body.
Women with pocystic ovarian condition and other conditions leading to hyper-androginism tend to have coarse thick hairs even over the face. The Nd-YAG laser scores the best in safety in treating body hair in the Asian skin types. However fine hairs require superior technology and occasionally IPL or Diode laser.
Four to six sessions are required for permanent hair reduction followed by maintenance sessions which can vary from six months to two years depending upon the individual.
